2018? Thank You, Next.

How Was Your 2018 Flamingo?

Mine started out amazing. I was smashing my goals. I was doing my thang. And then it happened and hit me like a bullet. Burnout. Life. Stress. LAZINESS.

If you're like me, that last one gets us in the most trouble. I absolutely do not want a repeat of this year. So how do I actually make sure 2019 is not a repeat year? That's what we'll be focusing in on this post. These are very basic but vital steps to creating a better New Year. So let's get into it!

Carving Out Me Time

A typical day for me can look like this: aklfghbareijhbihbial;fjgrssngenn;rjah. Snack. lkngajbrjbhtbainjn;gjbjfnjkbnbfg. Check Email. dfghsiuhsbhgsrbjhiartaaghiongafn. Sleep.

Rinse. Repeat.

I know many of you can probably relate to this, especially if you're in a fast-paced work environment and have an active family. You probably see spirals by bedtime.

Next time when you get home from work, leave work life at the door and give yourself at least 15 minutes completely devoted to yourself. This is your time to think, unwind, check up or write down goals, destress, and plan.

Self Inventory

Before the New Year begins I'm planning on laying everything out. What worked this year? What didn't work?  What are things I want to work on 2019 that I didn't get around to in 2018? Whatever answers you get out of these questions will turn into your goals for 2019. From there write out the things that you can do to reach that goal.

After writing everything above, we want to start prioritizing your goals. Which goals are at the top of your list? What can you do daily, weekly, monthly to smash them?

Plan Out Your Success

One thing that's really helped me achieve my goals is keeping a planner. I do not leave the house without a planner. I do not travel without my planner. It helps me keep track of my business and personal goals wherever I am. Here is a link to one of my favorite business planners.

Lights, Camera, Action

Creating and planning goals is nice and all that stuff. But honey chile, if you don't put action behind your goals you should just stop reading this blog right here. I would say that 90% of my failures this year were due to not putting action behind the things I had planned and put together due to ... you guessed it, laziness. One thing that has really helped with putting some fire behind my butt is Momentum. There's something about seeing my goals for the day over, and over, and over again as a move around on the internet. Also, try to create positive habits by setting alarms. Apps like Fabulous helped me tremendously with creating healthier daily habits.

Sound off in the comments below with goals you plan on implementing to create a fantastic 2019!

I enjoyed this post. I plan to work on my laziness as well in 2019! I also want to have a better diet in the new year.
